PROJECT RENEW EVENTS

Project Renew, which seeks to restore Slater Park summer camp facilities that were destroyed by a fire in December, has announced two upcoming events to raise funds the cause. A pint night will be held at Sullivan’s Publick House, 572 Armistace Blvd., Pawtucket, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. Proceeds from a portion of each pint sold will support the project. A Benefit Night Out will be held at the Lefoyer Club, 151 Fountain St., Pawtucket, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. The evening will include appetizers, prize drawings and music by Deluxe Edition. Tickets: $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Slater Park Office, located off of Armistice Boulevard, or at the mayor’s office at city hall, 137 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket. REC CENTER WORK DAY

Members of the community are invited by BridgePointe Christian Church to help repair and improve the East Providence Recreation Center, located at 100 Bullocks Point Ave, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, March 9. Projects will include painting, cleaning and minor repairs throughout the facility. Assistance is needed from people of all strengths and skill levels. Supplies and lunch will be provided. FROST BITER’S BASH

The Herreshoff Marine Museum will present its inaugural Frost Biter’s Bash from 6:30 to 11 p.m., on Saturday, March 9, in the museum’s Hall of Boats, 1 Burnside St., Bristol. Guests may tour the museum and enjoy food from local vendors, drinks at multiple bars and dancing in the historic hall. The event will help the organization raise money during its off-season. TORCH RUN PLUNGE

Special Olympics of Rhode Island will hold a Torch Run Plunge at noon on Sunday, March 10, at Goodard Memorial State Park, 1095 Ives Road, Warwick. Participants will make a minimum $50 donation before plunging into the ocean. Plunge registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the carousel. Following the plunge, a party featuring food from Eddy’s BBQ, music, raffles and a costume awards ceremony will be held. Non-plungers are invited to attend this party for a $15 donation. Prizes and awards will be given to the top fundraising school, largest school group and best school spirit. Participants must register by Monday, March 4. CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is seeking volunteers to assist with its Walk MS events to be held at three locations across the state from approximately 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 7. Volunteers are needed to help with activities such as set up, registration, t-shirt distribution, clean up, rest stop assistance and more, along walk routes in Bristol, Narragansett and Providence.
