JAZZ PERFORMANCE & BENEFIT

The David Bindman Sextet will perform Friday, April 5 at 8 p.m., at The Wamsutta Club, 427 County St., New Bedford. Bindman is a tenor saxophonist and composer, known for creative jazz. He has performed and taught workshops around the world. Other performers include drummer Royal Hartigan, trumpeter Frank London, pianist Art Hirahara, trombonist Reut Regev, and Wes Brown, who will play the contrabass. Proceeds will benefit the YWCA of Southeastern Massachusetts. Tickets: $20 in advance, $25 at the door. TOUCH-A-TRUCK EVENT

The Junior League of Rhode Island will hold its annual Touch-a-Truck event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Garden City Shopping Center, 100 Midway Road, Cranston. Children of all ages are invited to climb, explore and discover big rigs from around the state, including fire trucks, tanks, construction trucks and others. DANCING WITH THE STARS OF MENTORING

The Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership will hold its seventh annual Dancing With the Stars of Mentoring event from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., guests will watch displays of ballroom dancing as local celebrities and professional dancers from Dancin’ Feelin’ perform for judges. Audience members will also vote for their favorite dancers. The event also includes dinner and a silent auction. Tickets: $75 per person, $750 table of 10. UNPLUGGED GALA

The Providence Children’s Museum will present its annual galal, Unplugged – The Way to Play, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Providence Public Library, 225 Washington St., Providence. The event celebrates community and the museum’s role in bringing families together for play and learning experiences. The evening features live and silent auctions, music, cocktails and catered fare by Russell Morin Fine Catering. Cocktail attire is suggested. Tickets: $100 per person. AN EVENING UNCORKED

Rhode Island PBS will host, An Evening Uncorked!, a celebration of food and wine to benefit the station, from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Pawtucket Armory, 172 Exchange St., Pawtucket. The event begins with a champagne reception from 6 to 7 p.m., and is followed by an epicurean tour and wine tasting. Guests will sample tasting-sized portion of dishes and desserts from Southern New England’s top restaurants, and bid on wines, entertainment and travel experiences through silent and live auctions. A raffle will be held for a trip to Napa. Cocktail attire is suggested. All attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets: $140 for champagne reception, epicurean tour and wine tasting, $100 for tour and wine tasting only. Reservations are required.
