AN EVENING IN VENICE

Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island will host its annual charity gala, “An Evening in Venice,” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, in the Citizens Bank Rotunda, 1 Citizens Plaza, Providence. The event is themed to showcase the culture of a 16th century-inspired baroque Venetian masquerade ball, and will feature food and cocktails from Café Nuovo, live entertainment by Night Shift and dancing. COX PROVIDENCE RHODE RACES

The fifth annual Cox Providence Rhode Races will be held on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12. The series of races includes the Cox Sports Marathon, the UnitedHealthcare Providence Half Marathon, the National Grid 5K and the Kids Race. The Kids Race and the National Grid 5K will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Roger Williams Park, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. The Cox Sports Marathon and the UnitedHealthcare Providence Half Marathon will be held Sunday in downtown Providence, with the sports marathon beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the half marathon beginning at 8 a.m. Charitable partners include Cox Charities, Team in Training, Melanoma Foundation of New England, Lung Cancer Alliance and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State. DREAM DATE AUCTION

Children’s Wishes will holds its fourth annual Dream Date Auction at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at Rí Rá Irish Pub, 50 Exchange Terrace, Providence. Michaela Johnson of “The Rhode Show” and Ben DeCastro of Cardi’s Furniture will host the event, in which bachelors and bachelorettes will be auctioned off. The highest bidders will win “dream dates.” The evening also includes free appetizers, drink specials and raffles. Tickets: $10. SWING INTO SPRING

The Kent Center will host a gala reception and concert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, in the Garden Pavilion of the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick Hotel, 801 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. The third annual event will feature the 17-piece Beantown Swing Orchestra and their troupe of swing dancers. Michael Integlia Jr., president of Michael Integlia & Co., will serve as the event chair. HAITI’S CHILD GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Haiti Charity Hope Foundation will host the fourth annual Haiti’s Child Golf Tournament on Monday, May 20, at Lincoln Country Club, 31 Dexter Rock Road, Lincoln. Registration for the scramble-format tournament begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Participants will receive goody bags and prizes will be awarded for first place, the longest drive and closest to the pin.
