OLNEYVILLE SHINES CLEANUP
The Olneyville Collaborative will hold its annual Olneyville Shines neighborhood clean up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Registration for the event will take place at 9:30 a.m. in Joslin Park on Florence Street. Tools, bags and gloves will be provided. Participants will be given free t-shirts and a barbecue will be held following the event. Rain date will be Saturday, May 25. BIG BROTHERS ROAST
Big Brothers of Rhode Island will hold a roast of Executive Director Steve Kass to benefit the organization at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at the Providence Marriott Downtown, 1 Orms St., Providence. The audience will hear wisecracks from local comedians and friends of Kass, including Charlie Hall, Frank O’Donnell, Dave Kane, Ron St. Pierre, Matt Allen, Jim Shorts, Gene Valicenti and Buddy Cianci. Dinner will be served during the event and a cash bar will be available. Tickets: $75 each, $600 for a table of 10. AUCTION FOR THE ARTS
The Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre will host its 11th annual Auction for the Arts & Taste of Northern Rhode Island at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at the theater, 28 Monument Square, Woonsocket. During the event, patrons can sample dishes from several local restaurants and participate in silent and live auctions. Items up for bid include an African photo safari for two, a one-week stay at Jordan Grand Resort Sunday River, an iPad and tickets to concerts and sporting events. Tickets: $15 for one, $25 for two. CAR WASH FOR HOME & HOSPICE CARE
Romano Funeral Home and Wilbur-Romano Funeral home will host two car washes in June to benefit the Ask Mom Fund at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. The fund provides books for coloring, activities and reading, as well as crayons and bedding for children under hospice care or for children who are visiting loved ones in hospice care. The first wash will be held Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave., Providence. The second will be held Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren. For more information, call (401) 245-61818.

CLUBS FORE KIDS GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence will hold the sixth annual Clubs Fore Kids Golf Tournament on Monday, June 4, at Shelter Harbor Golf Club, 1 Golf Club Drive, Charlestown. Foursomes will play the private course, taking part in various contests and raising funds for Providence Youth. The day’s events include prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive, lunch, a post-tournament barbecue and a silent auction.
