FRIENDS GIVING BACK FUNDRAISER
Adoption Rhode Island will host its annual “Friends Giving Back” soiree from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Wicked Good Sports Bar, Twin River Casino, 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln. The event will feature dinner, dancing and surprise celebrity guests. Proceeds will benefit Adoption Rhode Island, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to finding families for children in state care and supporting those children and families throughout the adoption process. WALK FOR CHILDREN WITH APRAXIA
The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association (CASANA) will host a fundraising event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Colt State Park, Route 114 (Hope Street), Bristol. Proceeds from the walk will benefit CASANA’s apraxia programs and research. CASANA publicly funded nonprofit charity working to strengthen the support systems of children with apraxia so that each child is afforded their best opportunity to develop speech and communication. A NIGHT IN OZ
Boys Town New England will host a fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Providence Public Library, 150 Empire St., Providence. “The Wizard of Oz” themed event will mark the eighth annual hidden treasures gala featuring silent auction items, dinner and other festivities. Boys Town works with communities and schools to offer children and families services that help reunite kids with their families, find foster homes and provide resources to help families stay together. SALSA BY THE SEA
The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County (DVRCSC) and the Women’s Resource serving Newport and Bristol Counties (WRC) will host a dinner and dance event from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 at the Hyatt Regency Newport, 1 Goat Island, Newport. The event, which will support programs and services for victims of domestic violence, will feature Latin roots rock music by Santa Mamba and Mambo Pa Ti, a signature sangria cocktail reception followed by a silent auction and raffle with international items, and salsa dance instruction by Mambo Pa Ti.
