Participating Dunkin’ Donuts franchises will host a Valentine’s Day fundraiser for local schools during business hours at three locations in Central Falls and Pawtucket on Friday, Feb. 14. During the event, patrons who donate one dollar to the fundraiser will receive a a donut of their choice. All proceeds will be donated to local schools through the Brighter Future Fund, which was created by franchisee Arthur Medeiros to help support youth organizations in the communities in which he does business. Participating stores include: Dunkin’ Donuts, 542 Broad St., Central Falls; Dunkin’ Donuts, 205 Dexter St., Pawtucket and Dunkin’ Donuts, 465 Lonsdale Ave., Pawtucket. Lifecycle Inc. will host its second annual awards gala and fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Gracie’s, 194 Washington St., Providence. The event will celebrate the success of Ride 'Round Rhody, a bike-a-thon held each summer to raise funds for local cancer treatment and the premiere event of Lifecycle Inc. The evening will feature an awards ceremony with food from local farms and purveyors. Classy, casual attire is recommended. Cost: $75 per person. The American Cancer Society will host its 10th annual fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 2 at participating clubs across the state. The three-hour cycling event encourages participants to solicit sponsors and test their endurance to raise funds toward the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island will host its third annual Walk for Wishes from 9:00 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 23 at Warwick Mall, 400 Bald Hill Road, #100, Warwick. This indoor family event will feature music, games and other activities. Participants are encouraged to form a team, join an existing team or register as an individual walker. Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. Walk begins at 9:05 a.m. Cost: $25 general registration; $10 youth (18 years and younger). The Pawtucket Foundation will host its annual awards celebration at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center, 172 Exchange St., Pawtucket. The event will feature a reception, sit-down dinner and awards program recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to Pawtucket. Cost: $150 to $250 per person.
