COFFEE KICKOFF EVENT

Panera Bread will kick off a fundraising campaign to support Children’s Friend on Tuesday, April 1 beginning at 6 a.m. at participating stores across the state. In exchange for a $10 donation, the first 100 customers in line at each Rhode Island bakery-cafe will receive a Panera travel coffee mug and free coffee refills through the day of the 5K Walk & Run on April 26, which will be hosted by Children’s Fund. Limit one mug per person, per donation; free coffee refills valid only at the Panera cafes in Rhode Island. Refills are not available through the drive thru. WONDERLAND: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS GALA

Providence Public Library will host its annual gala from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday, April 11 at the library on 225 Washington St., Providence. Guests of the event will enjoy food from Russell Morin Fine Catering and experience the library’s transformation into a recreation of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Proceeds from the event will support educational and cultural programs and services in the community. Cost: $125 per person (full evening); $50 per person (dessert and dancing from 9:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.). CLEAN DAY ON THE GREENWAY

The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council will host a clean-up event on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fred Lippitt Woonasquatucket River Greenway Bike Path in Providence. Volunteers will help build fences, paint signs and barrels, pluck tires from the river, weed and mulch tree wells and plant beds and more. Rain date: Sunday, April 27. SIXTH ANNUAL ROGER WILLIAMS PARK CLEANUP

Serve Rhode Island will host an annual cleanup event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Roger Williams Park, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. During the event, which is in observance of Earth Day, volunteers will collect and clear the litter and debris in the Roger Williams Park pond system. Registration is required for each individual by Wednesday, April 23 by 4 p.m. This event is part of the second annual Providence Earth Day Spring Cleaning sponsored by the Partnership for Providence Parks. 5K WALK & RUN

Children’s Friend will host a fundraising event beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Roger Williams Park Temple to Music, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. The event will feature an opening ceremony from 10 to 10:30 a.m., a 5K walk and run from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and ongoing entertainment including: a live DJ, refreshments from Panera Bread, arts and crafts, face painting and other family friendly activities. Proceeds will benefit Children's Friend, Rhode Island's oldest child welfare agency. 19TH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC

Cluny School will present its 19th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, April 28 at the Newport Country Club, 280 Harrison Ave., Newport. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11a.m. Participants will enjoy 18 holes of golf, including a hole-in-one contest to win a new BMW, refreshments in the clubhouse, lunch, a cocktail reception, buffet supper, awards, silent auction and more. Proceeds will benefit the school. Cost: Registration is $350 per individual; $650 per twosome; $1,250 per foursome.
