Alex and Ani will host a fundraising event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at Alex and Ani Wayland Square, 201 Wayland Ave., Providence. 15 percent of all proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Historical Society will host its annual fundraiser at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Aldrich House, 110 Benevolent St., Providence. The Endometriosis Foundation of Rhode Island will host an endometriosis walk starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday May 4 at the Johnston Memorial Park, 1583 Hartford Ave., Johnston. The inaugural event will raise funds and awareness for endometriosis. Vendors will be in attendance to provide participants with information regarding infertility, therapy and wellness. The Rhode Island School of Design Museum Associates will host a fundraising gala and talk beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5 at the RISD Museum's Metcalf Auditorium, Chace Center, 20 North Main St., Providence. During his special talk, celebrated New York-based designer Miles Redd will share his design inspiration and present a portfolio of his cozy chic designs. A book signing of Redd’s “The Big Book of Chic” will follow, along with a gala luncheon beginning at 12:15 p.m. and provided by Russell Morin Fine Catering. Cost: $75 each per person; tickets for the talk and luncheon begin at $150 per person. Proceeds support the RISD Museum and its community outreach and education programs. Providence Rotary will host its third annual Providence Rotary Jazz Fest at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 at Fete, 103 Dike St., Providence. The event will feature nationally known artists, including: Gray Sargent, Marshall Wood, drummer Gary Johnson, Jim Porcella on vocals and Christine Fawson on trumpet and vocals. Dan Moretti and the Hammond Boys will open the event. Proceeds will benefit the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation.
