YWCA RHODE ISLAND GOLF TOURNAMENT
YWCA Rhode Island will hold its 19th annual golf tournament on Sunday, July 21, starting at 1 p.m. at Foster Country Club, 67 Johnson Road, Foster. The event will benefit ENCOREplus, a program that focuses on women’s health education about breast and cervical cancer and promotes early detection, and fund a scholarship for a female student-athlete. The event is held each year in the memory of Gini Duarte, who died of breast cancer in 1994. The tournament will include prizes for winners in the women’s and co-ed/male divisions. The Newport Music Festival will host its Sapphire Gala on Friday, July 19 at 7 p.m. at the Rosecliff mansion, 548 Bellevue Ave., Newport. The Mishnock Wish Team will sponsor its’ 3rd annual “Wheels for Wishes” classic car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mishnock Barn on Lake Mishnock, 200 Mishnock Road, West Greenwich. The show will benefit Children’s Wishes of R.I., which helps grant children with life threatening illnesses their wish.
