CULINARY EVENT TO BENEFIT ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION
The Rhode Island Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a culinary fundraising event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston. The event will feature a panel of celebrity judges, including Brian Demay, Lite Rock 105; Mike Montecalvo, WPRI anchor and Frank Terranova, chef at Johnson & Wales University. Other events planned include cooking demonstrations, a holiday wreath auction and raffles. All proceeds benefit people with Alzheimer’s disease in Rhode Island. HOLIDAY MEAL DRIVE OPEN HOUSE
The Rhode Island Community Food Bank will host a food drive from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 7, at R.I. Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence. During the event, families can get involved in the work of the food bank by donating items, touring the facility and enjoying performances by local musicians. Guests will have the chance to meet the new Miss Rhode Island and Paws from the PawSox. A scavenger hunt and hot chocolate with cookies will also be offered. WaterFire will host the third annual Christmas WaterFire on Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14.
