FOXBORO – Wynn Resorts appears to be behind the “flood” of phone polls that have been testing the waters for residents’ support of a casino, The Sun Chronicle reported Thursday.

Wynn is proposing a billion dollar casino on a property owned by the Kraft Group across from Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place.

Former Selectman Paul Feeney told the newspaper that the polls seem to be “push polls” designed to “inject some kind of messaging – to create a frame so that their message gets out in the polls” rather than an information-gathering survey.

Residents have received the survey calls since Sunday and included questions on the “trustworthiness” of town officials and other figures, The Sun Chronicle said, noting that several residents felt the poll was “heavily tilted toward the casino proposal.”
