ProVisions United raised $8,000 from the sixth annual masquerade ball and fashion show, Earth Wind & Desire, which was held at the Hope Artiste Village. The funds will be donated to the food programs at Bell Street Chapel, Providence Rescue Mission, Crossroads Rhode Island and Manna Relief.

Fifteen local restaurants – including Citron, Liliana’s, CAV, Blaze Restaurant, the Nylo Providence/Warwick’s Loft Restaurant, Chinese Laundry, Gracie’s, Hemenway’s Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar and Waterman Grille – teamed with models from Rhode Island Modeling Agency, Party By Design and Park Ave Puppys to put on the fashion show. Rhode Island School of Design Caters and Atomic Catering, as well as support from Alan Shawn Feinstein’s Feinstein Foundation, 630 WPRO-AM, 95.5 WBRU-FM, and the student body of the Johnson & Wales Special Events Society, also helped with the event. Other sponsors that facilitated the silent auction, giveaways and entertainment were Amica Insurance and the Rhode Island Chapter of the International Special Events Society. Paul Mueller, anchor for WLNE-TV ABC 6, was the evening’s emcee. •
