Prophet Share takes on pricing strategies in latest workshop

WARWICK – Prophet Share Inc., the volunteer small business speakers bureau and self-help program, is offering the latest in its series of seminars Tuesday, Sept. 30, titled “Six Steps to Small Business Success … Pricing for Profits.”
Prophet Share, formerly known as the Rhode Island Small Business Recovery Program, offers regular seminars for small businesses on specific topics given by experienced business professionals.
Tuesday’s two-hour seminar, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., is expected to take on the following general topics:

  • Pre-business planning
  • Startup financing, budgets and numbers
  • Human resources/managing people
  • Operations – work flow, customers and sales
  • Building a saleable business and selling it
  • Transitioning to life after business

In addition, speaking to the theme of the seminar’s title, the following topics will be examined:

  • Pricing versus utilization
  • Volume versus higher billing rates
  • Brand differential versus value creation monopoly to high profits
  • Pricing new products and services
  • Pricing versus competition, pricing against low-cost firms
  • Strategic customer selection – value-added pricing
  • Why customers will be glad to pay you more, law of competitive advantage
  • Lower pricing can lead to lower profits or higher profits
  • Selling methods to high pricing, accessories and add-ons
  • Wholesale versus retail, product mix, sales people and pricing

The event is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Centerville Seminar Center at 875 Centerville Road, Building 2, Suite 5, in Warwick, and it is free. Participants will receive David J. Lucier’s book, “Six Steps to Small Business Success.” To register, follow this LINK.
