Providence Bruins center and former MVP Trent Whitefield recently dropped by Hasbro Children’s Hospital to visit with patients and present a $10,000 check.
The funds were raised during the inaugural Hasbro Children’s Hospital Night at the P-Bruins. During the event, a portion of proceeds from ticket sales were collected for the hospital. Additional money came from the annual auction of player-worn warm-up jerseys, sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, which has raised more than $30,000 in its 10-year history.
“We are enormously grateful to the Providence Bruins organization, and to all the team’s fans who have helped support the children and families at Hasbro Children’s Hospital,” said Mark Cummings, senior vice president of development for Lifespan. “Our longstanding partnership with the P-Bruins and with Dunkin’ Donuts is crucial to everything we do to provide the highest quality care to those who need us most.”
Since 1993, the Providence Bruins have donated more than $100,000 to the hospital. n
