PROVIDENCE – Providence Business News has selected the winners of its inaugural Chief Financial Officer Awards program, honoring nine local executives for their achievements.
Lee D. Grossi, CFO of Children’s Friend, has been selected for a lifetime achievement award for his work. Grossi’s career, spanning nearly four decades, includes serving as CFO for the State of Rhode Island, R.I. Department of Children, Youth and Families, R.I. Department of Human Services, and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
“He has managed the herculean task of guiding our financial services through extraordinary growth over a short period,” said David Caprio, president and CEO of Children’s Friend, who nominated Grossi for the award.
Caprio noted that the agency was able to grow from a 140 employee organization to more than 360 employees and double its budget from $10 million to $22 million.

The CFOs will be honored at an awards luncheon on March 31 at the Kirkbrae Country Club, 91 Old River Road, Lincoln, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
