Providence Center receives $50K grant from Home Depot Foundation

PROVIDENCE – The Providence Center has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation for improvements to the heating system at Joyce House, a transitional living program for homeless veterans.
The Joyce House provides transitional housing and support services, such as mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, financial planning and employment assistance. More than 87 percent of the veterans who are served by the Joyce House for its required one-year program have been able to secure independent housing, according to The Providence Center.
The nonprofit Home Depot Foundation has a mission to improve the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans and families. Its Veteran Housing Grants Program was established to provide grants to nonprofits that fund development of and repair of housing for veterans.
