Providence Children’s Museum gets $10K grant

PROVIDENCE – Providence Children’s Museum has received a $10,000 grant from the Dominion Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources Inc.
The museum is a place where kids and grownups play and learn together.
“We are deeply grateful to Dominion Foundation for supporting Providence Children’s Museum,” said Museum Executive Director Janice O’Donnell. “We are thrilled that Dominion shares our belief in the importance of active, hands-on discovery for children’s healthy development.”
The funds will be used to support kids’ hands-on science learning in activities related to the Museum’s Play Power exhibit, Imagination Playground, and the participatory play “No Time to Waste,” about the importance of recycling.
“Dominion is proud to energize the communities where we operate – not just via our day-to-day operations, but through our employee engagement and charitable contributions too,” said Henry A. Reis, Manager Power Generation Site, Manchester Street Station. “Providence Children’s Museum is a natural partner for us. It enhances the lives of those in this community via hands-on learning.”
Dominion owns and operates the power station, located on Point Street, which supplies electricity to more than 1.5 million homes, businesses, hospitals and schools in Rhode Island.
