Providence Foundation supports Question 7 on November ballot

PROVIDENCE – During its September meeting, trustees of The Providence Foundation unanimously voted to support Question 7, regarding the housing bond opportunity, which will be voted on during the 2016 election.

Posing a $50 million housing bond, Question 7 would provide more affordable housing in the state’s multifamily rental market by constructing 800 affordable homes and apartments as well as restoring foreclosed properties.

An estimated 1,700 construction industry jobs are expected to be created from the approval of this bond opportunity.

The Providence Foundation is a not-for-profit, private sector organization supported by more than 140 leading corporations and institutions. The Foundation’s core purpose is to create an environment that is conducive to growth and sustained investment, making Providence, particularly downtown, the premier mid-sized city in the country.
