Providence Restaurants Week set for 10th anniversary in 10 towns

PROVIDENCE – The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Providence Restaurant Weeks from Sunday, July 12, to Saturday, July 25, in 10 cities and towns.
The two-week event provides diners the opportunity to sample meals and drinks from more than 80 restaurants statewide offering three-course prix fixe lunches for $14.95 and/or three-course prix fixe dinners from $29.95 to $34.95. Some restaurants are also offering a 2 for 1 dinner special.
The restaurants are located in Providence, East Providence, Warwick, Seekonk, Smithfield, Bristol, Cranston, East Greenwich, Lincoln and Pawtucket.
Providence Restaurant Weeks began in 2006 with one week and about 40 participating restaurants. Over the years, the event became biannual, while doubling in both length and in the number of participating restaurants, and it has gained national attention from notable media outlets.
The city of Providence, voted America’s Favorite City by Travel + Leisure magazine in 2014, is one of the most sought-after culinary scenes. It recently received accolades such as “10 Best New Food Cities” worldwide by Jetsetter.com, said Martha Sheridan, president and CEO of the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“The culinary scene in Providence is gaining incredible national recognition, with the restaurants in our backyard being some of the best in the country,” Sheridan said. “Providence Restaurant Weeks offers diners the ability to sample fare and experience dining in one of the country’s top food destinations.”
Reservations may be made online at www.ProvidenceRestaurantWeeks.com (unless otherwise noted) or by calling the restaurants directly. A complete list of participating restaurants and menus can be found on the site as well.
