Providence Rink opens Saturday

PROVIDENCE – The Providence Rink will be open for ice skating season starting Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

The rink will be open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The rink also is open on all winter holidays.

General admission is $7 for adults, and $4 for seniors, children (12 and under) and military. Skate rentals are $5, and skate sharpening is $7.

Season passes are available and priced at $90 for an adult, $200 for a family of four, and $50 children and seniors. Special rates are available for birthday parties, school groups, business and social groups, and for full ice rental for private events.

Special rates are available during the season including the new FUNday Mondays! for children 12 and under, from 2 to 6 p.m., sponsored by Rhode Island PBS during the month of December. Admission is $2 for children 12 and under on these Mondays.

College night is every Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission for college students is $5 with valid college photo identification. The rink also offers a “lunchtime special” every weekday from noon to 2 p.m., and “after-work special” from 4 to 6 p.m. where admission is $5.

  • Rhode Island Community Food Bank food drive runs from Dec. 15 to 23. Bring in a canned good and receive a coupon for $1 off admission.
  • Tree Lighting, Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. The ice will be closed for public skating during the event and will reopen by 7:30 p.m.
  • Toys for Tots toy drive, Dec. 1 to 10. Bring a toy and receive a treat from Subway. Toys must be new – no need for wrapping paper.
