Providence Rotary Charities Foundation awards $65K to local charities

PROVIDENCE – Grants totaling $65,000 were awarded to 32 local nonprofit organizations benefiting children by the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation, the charitable wing of the Rotary Club of Providence, the organization announced.

Rotarians living in Providence, in addition to local businesses’ corporate sponsorship, fund the foundation through regular giving as well as donations made to the organization’s special events, such as a street painting festival.

This year’s top recipients were: Books Are Wings ($3,000), The Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence ($2,500), The Manton Avenue Project ($2,500), ResilientKids Organization ($3,000) and the Rhode Island Urban Debate League ($3,000).
