Providence needs your IDEAS

February 2, 2012 (Providence, RI) - Mayor Angel Taveras, Mike Ritz, and Providence Monthly invite you to gather at Providence City Hall (25 Dorrance St) from 6-8pm on Thursday, February 9, 2012 for the fourth annual I HEART PROVIDENCE - the LARGEST public event inside City Hall annually. The event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
“I HEART PROVIDENCE provides a way for people to show their love for our great city,” says event creator Mike Ritz, “Over the years at this event, thousands of people inside and outside Rhode Island have viewed the online video we created in our private confessionals, as well as our love letters to the city. This year, Providence is facing perhaps its toughest times ever - we need you to show up to tell us why Providence is important to you and to share IDEAS that could benefit our state capital."
I HEART PROVIDENCE is an outwardly expressed who’s-who celebration of people’s love of Providence that occurs on the Thursday before Valentine's Day each. The event is free and open to the public featuring complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live musical performances inside Providence City Hall, followed by an after party at The Salon, 57 Eddy Street (behind City Hall).
Food for I HEART PROVIDENCE is provided by Ebisu, El Rancho Grande, Fertile Underground, Hudson Street Deli, Los Andes, and Whole Foods. Desserts are provided by Sin Desserts, and Tip C Cupcakes. Northern Lands will energize attendees throughout the night with great live musical performances. Cash bars provided by Rhode Island Convention Center Catering.

About I HEART PROVIDENCE
Recognizing the fatality that can result from constant cynicism, founder Mike Ritz created I HEART PROVIDENCE in 2009 to showcase people's love for the city. What began as a social media initiative to connect people inside the city to the people outside of the city in person (face-to-face) has turned into THE capital celebration of the year.
