Providence seeks full-time manager to oversee EveryHome initiative

PROVIDENCE – The city is seeking a full-time manager to oversee its EveryHome initiative, which is aimed at rehabilitating abandoned residential houses.

The position is a one-year, grant-funded job with a salary of $65,000, plus benefits, according to an online posting.

The program was launched in 2015 by Mayor Jorge O. Elorza. At that time, the city estimated it had 475 abandoned houses. The program uses an existing receivership process to appoint a court receiver to oversee rehabilitation of the abandoned houses.

According to the job description, the manager will oversee the program, making sure its budget and deadlines are met, and that reports are submitted per grant funding to the state Office of the Attorney General.
