PROVIDENCE – Experience Rhode Island, a luxury shuttle service that provides tours in Providence and Newport, will donate a portion of its fall profits to WaterFire Providence.

“We are a family-run business that is passionate about and proud of all the great things Rhode Island has to offer visitors and residents,” said Ted Stricklin, president of Experience Rhode Island, in a release. “As one of the many tourism and hospitality businesses that benefits from WaterFire, my brothers and I wanted to create a program with WaterFire that will grow our business and support the nonprofit organization at the same time.”

Beginning Sept. 7 through Nov. 9, Experience Rhode Island will donate $5 to WaterFire Providence for every $10 adult ticket sold for its Saturday night shuttle service on WaterFire nights.

The Saturday shuttle provides unlimited rides in and around downtown Providence between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m., according to the company website. This fall, the shuttle service will operate two loops to and from WaterFire, one out to Federal Hill and the other to Wayland Square.

The Saturday shuttle also includes stops at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, Thayer Street, the Providence Performing Arts Center and Trinity Repertory Company. Riders can park for free at the Rhode Island state offices parking lot near exit 23 off Interstate 95.

In addition to the $5 donated on tickets sold for WaterFire nights, Experience Rhode Island will also donate $1 for every ticket sold for Saturday night shuttle service on non-WaterFire nights, as well as for their Explore Providence, Providence Dinner Tour and Newport for a Day experiences.

“We were excited when they approached us about supporting WaterFire, an event that we offer admission free to the public but which is pretty expensive to produce,” said Peter A. Mello, managing director of WaterFire Providence, in the release. “Not only do we appreciate Experience RI’s financial support, but they will be helping us solve one of our greatest challenges, keeping more cars off the streets and reducing congestion downtown.”
