Providence taxable property revaluation begins

PROVIDENCE – The state-required, three-year valuation of taxable property is underway in Providence. The city recently awarded the contract to Vision Government Solutions Inc., of Northborough, Mass. The reassessment of property will be completed by Dec. 31, and the values will reflect the 2015 real estate market.

Vision employees conducting assessments will carry photo identification, a letter of introduction from the city Assessor’s Office, and will be registered with Providence Police.
The new values, expected to be compiled early in 2016, once confirmed will appear on tax bills issued in the summer of 2016. Residents will be notified of the proposed assessments, and those wishing to discuss the values can schedule an informal review with Vision personnel in Providence.
