Prov.net selects Probit Systems as first applicant for new accelerator program

PROVIDENCE – Probit Systems has been selected as the first applicant for Provdotnet LLC’s newly established Prov.net Start-up Accelerator Program.

Provdotnet, a regional provider of specialized data center, Internet IP connectivity and colocation services in New England, began the accelerator program after opening a new data center facility in Chelmsford, Mass., where Probit Systems is located.

Provdotnet, in a news release, said it hopes to use the accelerator as a way to assist young technology companies through “in-kind” investments, in the hope that those companies would grow and become long-term customers and business partners. Specifically, the company is looking to assist startups focused on content rich low latency data for applications like IoT, big data analytics, edge/fog computing and virtual reality.

According to Provdotnet CEO and managing partner Ron Sacks, Probit was a good fit because it is using its analytics expertise to develop a software as a services platform for IoT product manufactures to test performance of IoT products currently in development.

“We are very excited to be selected for the start-up program,” Probit CEO Jayeram Perumalsamy said in a Sept. 29 press release. “The program is very unique and exactly what we needed at this stage of our business. It is also very gratifying to know that Provdotnet’s management believed in our team and our business model.”
