Purvis installs PEMA notification system

MIDDLETOWN – Purvis Systems Inc., information technology systems provider for public safety, emergency management and defense industries, has implemented a new electronic notification system for the Providence Emergency Management Agency.

The company said the system is a secure Web-based notification system that distributes alerts through multiple recipients on landline telephones, cell phones, e-mails, pagers, text messages and RSS feeds.

The Providence Emergency Management Agency is charged with preparation, response and recovery of natural disasters, terrorism or manmade disasters. Additionally, it manages the Greater Providence Metropolitan Medical Response System, which is responsible for community medical response in the event of a terrorist attack or mass-casualty incidents.
