The once-fictional sport of Harry Potter’s world, quidditch, is now a real-life athletic competition. Experience quidditch this weekend at Fort Adams during the 2012 Northeast Regional Quidditch Championship. Twenty-five teams, mostly from colleges in the Northeast, will compete on five fields during the two-day event hosted by the University of Rhode Island’s team. In addition to matches, the family-friendly event will also include programming designed for wizards of all ages, including “kidditch” or kid’s quidditch.
