R.I., Miriam, Newport researchers present for AHA

Researchers with the Cardiovascular Institute at Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Newport Hospital recently shared their work with colleagues from around the world at a conference in Dallas, Texas, hosted by the American Heart Association.
The association’s Scientific Sessions brought together more than 18,000 cardiovascular experts from more than 105 countries for four days to discuss the latest scientific advances in the fight against heart disease. The Institute’s researchers presented 22 papers during the session, which ran from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20.
“The Scientific Sessions is the leading conference for those in the field of cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiovascular research,” noted Dr. Samuel Dudley, chief of cardiology at the Cardiovascular Institute.
“The acceptance of such a large number of abstracts from our organization demonstrates the caliber of research being conducted here every day,” he said.
