PROVIDENCE – The R.I. House and Senate Finance Committees will meet Monday to review the state’s plan for distributing federal grants, the Associated Press reported.

The committees will hold a joint public hearing Monday afternoon on how the state plans to use federal Community Services Block Grants, according to the AP report published by Boston.com.

The grants are aimed at improving housing, nutrition, health care, education and employment programs for low-income communities, the homeless and the elderly.
