AUSTIN, Texas – Three Rhode Island schools – Rhode Island College, Providence College and Roger Williams University – were named on the annual list of “Colleges of Distinction.”
The list, released Wednesday, honors 294 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada.
“These schools are among the very best in North America,” Tyson Schritter, executive editor of the Colleges of Distinction eGuidebook, said in prepared remarks.
Schools included on the list go “above and beyond” in the four following areas: great students, engaged teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes.
Colleges and universities are nominated by high school guidance counselor recommendations as well as research done by the Colleges of Distinction team.
The featured schools represent “the cutting edge of higher education including experiential learning, study abroad and internships,” said a release from the company.
