RIDE names Skyward a preferred vendor

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The R.I. Department of Education has named Skyward Inc. a preferred vendor of software for the state’s districts, the company announced.
The designation means districts will not have to submit a Request for Proposal to contract with Skyward to buy student information systems.
Central Falls and Pawtucket have already signed contracts with Skyward for software systems to connect parents, teachers and students.
“Skyward will enable teachers to easily plot student achievements and provide feedback to students and parents,” said Hersh Cristino, chief information and innovation officer for the Pawtucket School Department.
The Web-based system integrates the information on attendance, grading, discipline and other key areas, according to the company.
