PROVIDENCE – So what do you want in a transportation hub and what should it look like?
The R.I. Department of Transportation will hold an open house Thursday to solicit opinions on the design and features of the Providence Intermodal Transportation Center.
The forum is at 5 p.m. at the Providence Foundation offices, 30 Exchange St.
The purpose of the open house is to provide a forum for the public to discuss both design and amenities. The format will allow participants to drop in and leave. The state asks participants to consider sharing information about how and where they commute, and whether they need particular amenities, including Wi-Fi, charging stations or access to bike racks and storage.
The proposed center, which will be constructed under a public-private partnership, will be on a site near the existing Providence Station train facility.
