Raimondo urges financial coaching

PROVIDENCE – General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo recently spoke at City Year’s Basic Training Academy to Corps members including five from Providence about financial independence. Raimondo urged members to take advantage of City Year’s new partnership with the Capital Good Fund’s Financial Coaching Corps and sign up for one-on-one sessions with a coach who can help members take charge of their own finances.
“City Year’s Corps members are hardworking, dedicated and committed to excellence,” said Raimondo. “I am thrilled to see so many young people who are willing to take the initiative to move Rhode Island forward.”
City Year Rhode Island partners diverse, young leaders with Providence schools where they will complete a full-year of service to provide attendance coaching, mentoring, academic support and high-quality after school programs to students.
The Capital Good Fund’s Financial Coaching Corps is made up of experienced volunteers willing to provide personal finance coaching for those looking to become financially empowered.
