Raising money for startups

PROVIDENCE – A discussion will take place Friday at Brown University about raising money for startups.
The event will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Sidney Frank Building- Marcuvitz Auditorium, 185 Meeting St. Speakers include investors and entrepreneurs in both physical and life sciences.
The moderator will be Jason Harry, an early stage business consultant and associate professor at Brown. Panelists include Gaye Bok, venture partner at Excel Venture Management; Sven Harmsen, principal at BASF Venture Capital America Inc.; Dana Ono, a biotech Entrepreneur and Investor; and Jeff Weiss, Clean Energy Venture Group investor.
