PROVIDENCE – Brown University has one of the best websites in the nation, according to OnlineCollegePlan.com.
OnlineCollegePlan.com, which ranked the top 50 online schools according to their websites, said this week that Brown’s website, www.brown.edu, landed the Ivy League university the 15th best spot on the list.
It said Brown maintains a “highly sleek and clean website” and users “will be able to quickly and easily access various informative pages about the various aspects of the school.”
Brown was the only Rhode Island college or university recognized.
First on the list was Texas State University’s website, which OnlineCollegePlan.com praised for its “calming” earth-tone color scheme and features that include “very responsive drop-downs that contain various links.” It called it the “best designed site that we have found.”
Massachusetts schools that made the rankings are: University of Massachusetts Amherst, 40th, and Boston University, 39th.
OnlineCollegePlan said it ranked schools’ websites according to quality of information provided, quantity of information provided, how easy it is to find information on the site, whether the site functions well and the website’s layout and scheme.
OnlineCollegePlan, according to its website, was created to assist parents and students in planning for an online college education.
