Report: E.G. has most expensive homes in R.I., Providence, most affordable

EAST GREENWICH – East Greenwich has the most expensive homes in the state, while Providence has the most affordable, according to a report from Coldwell Banker Real Estate released Thursday.
The home listing report, which featured the affordability of 2,000 markets across the country, said East Greenwich, with an average listing price of $507,663, is the most expensive in the Ocean State. In comparison, Providence ranked as the most affordable market in the state, with an average listing price of $193,804.
Cumberland and Barrington round out the top three most expensive communities with average listing prices of $448,938 and $446,367, respectively. West Warwick ranks as the second-most affordable at $238,750, and Pawtucket, third-most affordable, at $326,493.
Prices are based on a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home.
Saratoga, Calif., is the most expensive community in the nation with an average listing price of $2.5 million. While communities in California dominate the top 11 spots on the list, Greenwich, Conn., comes in as the 12th most expensive with an average listing price of $1.3 million. Wellesley, Mass., is 13th most expensive with its average listing price of $1.29 million, according to the report.
