PAWTUCKET – Accessing Rhode Island Medical Imaging has added to its imaging services for residents of northern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts with the recent installation of the company’s third 3T magnetic resonance imaging system in the Blackstone Valley Medical Building at 333 School Street in Pawtucket.
The 3T MRI system, which has been available at RIMI’s East Greenwich and East Providence locations since the spring of 2011 and fall of 2013 respectively, captures high-resolution images and has features a more spacious opening for optimal patient comfort; especially for claustrophobic patients, shorter scanning times than compared to other MRI machines, especially “open” scanners; and a video entertainment system and a DVD library, with iPod, iPhone and MP3 compatibility.
In addition to being the first and only Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence in Rhode Island, RIMI is the only medical imaging provider to offer the benefits of 3T imaging with the convenience of an out-patient setting in the state.
