Rite Aid donates to Children’s Friend

The Rite Aid Foundation has made a $10,000 in-kind donation to Children’s Friend in Providence, a non-profit organization that provides services to families in need. The Rite Aid Foundation’s donation will consist of Rite Aid brand infant care products. The Rite Aid Foundation previously awarded the organization a $10,000 grant in 2012 and a $6,000 grant in 2011.
“The Rite Aid Foundation is proud of its continued relationship with Children’s Friend,” said Gayle Rife, manager of the foundation. “We applaud the great work being done by Children’s Friend and thank them for their commitment as they work to give newborns a healthy start to life.”
Children’s Friend, founded in 1834, is Rhode Island’s oldest child welfare organization and a leading provider of child welfare, family support, mental health, and child development services. With centers in Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls, Children’s Friend serves more than 31,000 of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children and their families each year.
“The generous donation of infant care items from The Rite Aid Foundation will help Children’s Friend in providing Rhode Island’s most vulnerable babies with a healthy start,” said David Caprio, president and CEO of Children’s Friend. “We are grateful to The Rite Aid Foundation for their ongoing support which has allowed us to continue to deliver on our mission of providing flexible, effective, and culturally-relevant services that support and strengthen children and families across the state.”
