Rite Aid raise more than $100K for Hasbro

Posted 6/11/12

PROVIDENCE – Forty-seven Rite Aid stores in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts raised a record-breaking $106,004 for Hasbro Children’s Hospital during a six-week Miracle Balloon sales campaign that ran from April 1 to May 19.

The funds raised at the local Rite Aid stores will provide critical care, purchase lifesaving equipment, fund groundbreaking research and cover medical costs for uninsured or underinsured pediatric patients at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“Each year the medical staff at Hasbro Children’s Hospital treats tens of thousands of children and families from our local communities who come to us when they are at their most vulnerable,” said Dr. Robert B. Klein, pediatrician-in-chief of Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “We are tremendously grateful for the incredible support of Rite Aid associates and customers.

Rite Aid is a retail partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a children’s charity that raises funds for its 170 member hospitals.

“Rite Aid associates, true to their core value, continue to display the qualities of a caring neighbor,” said John Lauck, president and CEO, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
