Why did you select your profession?

Law is a great way to help others while staying constantly intellectually engaged with new problems to solve. It never gets boring because each client is unique and there is always more to learn.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever been given?

Make your own luck through hard work.

What advice would you give your 22-year-old self?

Take better care of your knees. Things really do start wearing out! And stretch more – your coaches really meant that too.

What is your favorite escape or hobby?

Woodworking, plumbing, wiring, gardening, painting or generally anything around our 18th-century Colonial that involves a tool and does not involve a computer screen.

How do you keep a work-life balance?

What’s that? Does not compute … but seriously, try as best you can to bake the balance into your schedule and keep it – good luck!

What one thing in your professional life would you like a do-over on?

To have stayed fluent in a second language. •
