On July 1, North Attleboro became a little bit more rock ‘n’ roll.

On that day, Joey Kramer’s Rockin’ & Roastin’ Café, the first such establishment by the Aerosmith drummer, held its grand opening. The venture was a joint project between Kramer and local car dealership owner Ernie Boch Jr., who owns the land on which the café sits.

Frank Cimler, the company president and Kramer’s business partner, explained the two have been friends for years. “Boch has a passion for music and Kramer has a passion for cars,” Cimler said.

Perched on the intersection of Route 1 and South Washington Street, the location could not be better, said Cimler. He hopes the café will be a “must-see destination” for local residents, as well as Aerosmith’s many fans. So far the band’s bassist, Tom Hamilton, and former Massachusetts U.S. Sen. Scott Brown have visited the café.

Cimler said the company needs to settle in before expanding.

“Our objective is to prove the business model,” he said of the company’s goal for the first year. •
