Ronald McDonald House reaches $5M fundraising goal

PROVIDENCE – The “Always Room at the House” campaign of Ronald McDonald House of Providence reached its $5 million fundraising goal in December with the help of donations from 855 households, 95 local businesses, as well as several donations from charitable foundations.

CEO Michael Fantom thanked all those involved in the fundraising effort, saying, “We are already seeing the real-life effects a few extra bedrooms are having on the lives of families from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and around the world.”

Launched in 2014 and led by co-chairs Paul Moran, Jean Moran and Paul Mooney, the Always Room at the House campaign was designed to help offset the cost of an additional 10 bedrooms and program space at the organization’s Gay Street facility. This would be the largest expansion for the organization since it opened in 1989 and would allow it to serve 130 families with sick children each year – 40 percent more than previously.
