Rose McDermott, a professor of political science at Brown University, has been elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. McDermott is the author of three books and more than 90 academic papers on experimentation, identity, emotion, intelligence, decision-making and the bases of political behavior. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University. •
