CRANSTON – Ross-Simons jewelers celebrated its 60th anniversary as a global brand on Friday at 10 a.m. at its Cranston headquarters.
“The 60th anniversary of Ross-Simons is a family celebration,” Darrell Ross, company president and CEO, said in a statement. “Our family worked tirelessly to build a successful jewelry franchise. And from our humble beginnings on Westminster Street in downtown Providence, we conceived of a pricing and service model that we still use today.”
“With local renown, we turned our energies towards revolutionizing how jewelry could be sold beyond Rhode Island without a storefront,” added Ross.
Ross-Simons was founded as a single store in 1952 by Sidney and Lillian Ross and now has 14 stores in eight states, produces and mails 50 million catalogs across the world and has an e-commerce site ranked among the top performers in the industry, according to a company release.
“Like us, our generations of customers have celebrated many firsts over the years. And we have been blessed with a level of loyalty that is uncommon in the retail world,” said Ross. “As they have stood by us, it is our hope to continue to be here for our customers with the most beautiful and meaningful gifts and the very best values anywhere.”
