SBA offers security <br> course for small biz

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration, in honor of October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, is offering a free online cybersecurity course to small businesses.
The course, titled “Cybersecurity for Small Businesses,” will offer an overview of practices to secure business information, identify security threats and guard against cyber-attacks.
The Small Business Administration, through this course, will highlight the importance of protecting sensitive data and the effect of a system failure on a company’s operations.
The self-paced course includes topics such as defining cybersecurity, identifying types of information that should be secured against threats, identifying types of cyber threats and best cybersecurity practices.
Upon completing the course, business owners can obtain a completion certificate from the Small Business Administration. For more information or to take the cybersecurity course, can be found at www.sba.gov.
