SEED Corp. receives Rockland grant

TAUNTON – South Eastern Economic Development Corp. has received a $25,000 grant from Rockland Trust Community Development Corp. to provide financial counseling to low- and moderate-income owners of small businesses in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, according to an announcement from SEED. The counseling will be through workshops and one-on-one sessions.
“We are committed to strengthening the communities in which we work and live,” said Gerry Nadeau, executive vice president and director of commercial banking for Rockland Trust. “We are proud of our continued support of SEED in its efforts to help local businesses succeed and create new jobs in our communities, especially those challenged by higher unemployment rates.”
The Rockland Trust funding is through the federal New Markets Tax Credit program.
“Small businesses create most of the new jobs in our economy and Rockland Trust’s continued support of SEED’s technical assistance to small business enables them to continue operating and creating new jobs.”
