SEG to hold impact accelerator graduation

PROVIDENCE – Social Enterprise Greenhouse will recognize its 2016 Impact Accelerator participants on Thursday with a free event marking their graduation.

The event will be held at the SEG Hub, 10 Davol Square, suite 100, from 5 to 8 p.m.

“Each venture will flex their impact with a pitch to the audience. The event is an opportunity for the community to come celebrate their accomplishments,” a news release from SEG stated.

The 11 business ventures started the 12-week program, which is delivered in collaboration with Brown University, in January.

Throughout the program, each of the social enterprises worked to refine and expand its social mission with the support of SEG’s coaches and advisers.

Upon graduation, participants will receive priority access to the SEG loan fund that provides below-market interest rate loans to high-potential social enterprises as well as later-stage business services.

“These innovative entrepreneurs are our future; they bring opportunities, jobs and well-being to Rhode Island. The pitch and graduation event is the culmination of a lot of hard work for these 11 entrepreneurs, and it’s truly inspiring to see the dedication they have to improving our community,” SEG Venture Development Director Emily Wanderer said in a statement.
