SENEDIA, UTIC launch ‘Tech Talks’ series

MIDDLETOWN – Technology talks to discuss and share defense and undersea technologies, applications and opportunities are being conducted by the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance and the Undersea Technology Innovation Center.

Two well-attended events have already been conducted in 2017 – the Large Displacement Undersea Underwater Vehicle Acquisition Strategy Discussion and the Annual Naval Technology Exercise and Narragansett Bay Test Facility Overview.

“SENEDIA and UTIC are committed to bringing insight to the defense and undersea technology clusters in Rhode Island,” Molly Magee, executive director, SENEDIA, said in a statement. “Understanding technology capabilities and requirements is at the heart of creating opportunities to grow our businesses and create high-paying jobs.”

In upcoming talks, NUWC Division Newport, one of two divisions of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, and large prime contractors will discuss their programs and technology challenges. Companies and organizations with defense and undersea technologies are welcome to attend.
