SENEDIA holding ‘Defense Innovation Days’

NEWPORT – The Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance’s (SENEDIA) second annual Defense Innovation Days event will be held Aug. 26 to 28 at the Marriott Hotel, featuring national leaders from the U.S. Department of Defense, industry and Congress to discuss innovation from the warfighter, technology, cybersecurity and unmanned systems perspectives.

SENEDIA said the event is building on last year’s inaugural event, which is called an “enormous success” and featured then-Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel describing southeastern New England as the “Silicon Valley” of undersea technology.

Keynote speaker will be Frank Kendall, the under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics.

Also participating will be Gov. Gina M. Raimondo, U.S. Sen. Jack F. Reed Senator Jack Reed (RI), Vice Admiral Jan Tighe, commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command; Vice Admiral Philip Cullom, deputy chief of naval operations, and Rear Admiral Michael Jabaley, program executive officer, submarines.
